Today while coming to office I realized one thing that there are very few people who switch off their vechiles when get stuck at traffic signals. Most of them they prefer to keep their vechiles switched on, there by wasting fuel and polluting the environment at large.
I have noticed that even in traffic signals where, time is indicated people prefer to keep their vechiles on.At some places where it heavy traffic and vechiles are halted for 3 mins even then they vechiles are on. Why? The fuel which they are wasting then is of no use for them or the environment around.
Can't understand one thing what really motivates them to keep to do this act. On world environment day people take oath that they will do this do that but when the time comes they forget it straight away.
I feel we are addicted to vechiles these days. Reason even if we have to cover small distance we prefer to use our car or bike, why? Those distance which could be covered by foot should be done that done by foot.It has 2 benefits, first it will act as an exercise for us and secondly we will save money on petrol and parking .And it will be a unique experience for all of to come out of our routine life from cars and bikes.
So are you with me towards saving our earth and bit of money.?

All those advertisements and hoardings we see on road about turning off your vehicle’s ignition at stop lights to save fuel are right. It’s actually a no brainer: we turn off our car and the engine immediately stops using fuel.
Keeping our engine on idle while stuck in traffic or when waiting for the signal to turn green also consumes more fuel than switching off the ignition and restarting it. According to studies, on an average we waste 0.098 litres of fuel for every 10 minutes of idling. That may not sound much but it all adds up over time. So as a thumb rule, turn off the car if we will be idling over 10 seconds.
