Recession has armed companies to reframe company policies to suit them the best, be it big companies or small firms. All have joined the brigade to torture the employees.
First axe is on their pay package “ no hike till market regain its old glory but their job responsibility has been hiked, as the salary which companies are paying to employees has suddenly become too much to be borne by them”. If employees want to don’t want to under go salary cut its better they take up more responsibility, if not move out. Though the decision is left to employees but they don’t have much say in it.
Second axe on leaves “According to government rules pvt firms are suppose to give 20 leave to their employees annually”. Companies know employees won’t raise voice to any injustice done to them during recession so they have reduced the number of leaves of employees to 10 in a year. They have even axed public holiday challenging the decision of government. Seems like have the law of land for granted.
Third axe on working hours “Employees are expected to put in more hours, without any hike in salary”. Earlier standard working hours in pvt sector firms was 9 hours now has been hiked to10hrs. Even if you complete your work earlier you have warm your seat for 10 hours. In which book has it been mentioned that “spending more hours on at your desk lead to more productivity”.
Can’t understand why companies attitude has changed drastically towards their employees? Why can’t they retain the same attitude which they had towards them during boom? How can an employer expect loyalty from their employees when he himself isn’t loyal? Companies can fire anyone without prior notice but when employees look for a change they need to give notice to company… why?
Its high time companies revamp their ways, else will suffer in future because economy has started recovering, soon will be on track. That time employers shouldn’t complain about the disassociation of their employees from them…
